The general name of ‘paints to wipe’ covers various products designed to give a traditional patina appearance in the manner of plaster and waxed whitewash from Antiquity and the Mediterranean countries, or a material effect (wood, leather, textile, rock) or even textured surfaces. The principle is to apply, on an undercoat of opaque paint (white or coloured), a semi-transparent finishing paint, which irregularly covers the undercoat and thus creates shades of tones. The undercoat is a special paint (usually slightly sandy or granulated), suitable for the finishing coat and facilitates the attachment, it must be applied using a textured roller, the woven and well-defined polyamide is the ideal tool for this job. Depending on the tool used to apply the finishing stage, we obtain a wiped effect, marbled, sponged, tidied up, etc. All these techniques give a great freedom and allow to create original and inimitable sets. This simple principle makes possible to limit the range of paints and to increase the number of decorative tools. It is from this concept that Deco + has developed its decoration system consisting of 3 finishes to be adopted according to the tastes of each (a matte classic, a modern iridescent, and a golden or pearly trend) and 40 decorative tools. With a palette of 16 colors, this system gives unlimited possibilities, Déco + called it “Thousand and One effects”.
